For the first time since 2022, the NFL will host a regular-season game in Mexico City.

While we've known the San Francisco 49ers would be the hosts for some time, their opponent remained a secret until the 2026 international schedule was announced this week.

We now know that the Week 11 game, hosted at Estadio Banorte, will also feature the Minnesota Vikings.

With Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffery and Geroge Kittle on one sideline, and Kyler Murray and Justin Jefferson on the other, it's enough to ensure that the NFL's return to Mexico City goes off with a bang.

Here's what to expect, how to watch, and when to tune in.

Vikings vs. 49ers: Kick-off time and venue

The game will be broadcast live on DAZN for NFL Game Pass subscribers.

In the US, the game will be broadcast on NFL Network and NFL+.

  • Date: Sunday, November 22, 2026 (Week 11)
  • UK (GMT): 1.20 am (Sunday, November 23)
  • US (ET): 8.20pm
  • US (PT): 5.20pm
  • Venue: Estadio Banorte, Mexico City, Mexico

Estadio Banorte is formerly known as Estadio Azteca. The venue seats approximately 87,000 to 90,000 people, which will be the capacity for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Vikings vs. 49ers: Key storyline

Vikings starting QB

This should be the biggest story in Minnesota all season. During the offseason, the Vikings brought in Kyler Murray, which begs the question: Will he or JJ McCarthy be the starter Week 1 and especially in Week 11?

Murray was brought in because McCarthy, drafted in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, cannot stay on the field as he's consistently injured.

And when McCarthy is on the field, he hasn't played like the quarterback who led Michigan to the 2024 College Football National Championship for the University of Michigan.

Vikings vs. 49ers: Key matchup

49ers offense vs. Vikings defense

When on the field together, Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffery, and George Kittle are a force to be reckoned with as they are three of the most dynamic players at their respective positions in the NFL.

Last season, the Vikings were a top-five defense in the league. If all things are equal and everyone else, it will be a chess match and a fun one to watch.
