What are NFL bye weeks? When is my team on bye week?

During the regular season, each NFL team gets one week off from playing - known as a bye week.

All 32 teams are in action during the first four and final four weeks of the season. But from Week 5 to Week 14 (excluding Week 13), each team will have a week without a game.

What are bye weeks?

NFL bye weeks have featured in every season since 1990, having been removed originally back in 1966.

In any given bye week, between two and six teams will not play. Every NFL franchise gets one bye week per season.

In the 2025 NFL season, the bye weeks start in Week 5 and run until Week 15. However, there are no byes in Week 13.

Teams use bye weeks to give their players a chance to rest and recover while preparing to face their next opponent the following week.

When is my team on a bye week?

The schedule for bye weeks in the 2025 season is as follows:

• Week 5: Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons
• Week 6: Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings
• Week 7: Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills
• Week 8: Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, Detroit Lions, Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams
• Week 9: Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
• Week 10: Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys
• Week 11: Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints
• Week 12: Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders
• Week 13: None
• Week 14: New York Giants, New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers, San Francisco 49ers
