In an interview with DAZN News, Alexandre Pantoja discussed Patricio Pitbull’s signing with the UFC and his highly anticipated debut against Yair Rodriguez.
"I met him in California in 2014, and I learned a lot from him," Pantoja said. "He’s so aggressive, so complete, it's amazing for the UFC to have someone like him in the game."
While he expects a close fight, the UFC flyweight champion gives the edge to his fellow Brazilian.
"I like Yair Rodriguez too," Pantoja said. "He’s a great fighter with very good skills. But Patricio has been a champion for so many years. He has fought a lot of top guys, and he's had enough time to recover and prepare himself properly.
"Every time Pitbull fights, he brings the fight. I think he's the favorite in this one."
Meanwhile, Jose Aldo is set to return to the Octagon once again, taking center stage at UFC 315 against Aiemann Zahabi. For Pantoja, this is a special moment.
"Every time he fights, it’s a special event. People love watching him," Pantoja said of Aldo.
Regardless of the outcome, Pantoja is simply excited to watch "The King of Rio" compete.
"He’s still competitive, still hungry," Pantoja said. "No matter the result, it's a great opportunity for the fans, including myself, to watch him fight again."
