UFC veteran and former fighter Brad Pickett is now the trainer of prospects Lone'er Kavanagh and Nathaniel Wood.
Asked about the possible winner between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall, Pickett gave his opinion on whether his compatriot could become the first man to beat Jon Jones.
"Honestly, yes and no," Pickett told DAZN News via NetBet, UFC Betting. "Two things. One, it depends on which Jon Jones turns up. Jon Jones is the GOAT in my eyes, the best fighter to ever do it. But sometimes, when you’re at the top for such a long time like he has been, it’s hard to motivate yourself.
"That’s why, to me, the fight with Aspinall, he’s not that motivated for."
Aspinall became interim heavyweight champion after a dramatic one-minute TKO win over Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304. Pickett highlighted Aspinall's power as a key weapon in his compatriot's arsenal.
"And that can be a very dangerous thing," Pickett said. "So we all see Tom Aspinall, he could knock out anyone. If he had a fight with an elephant, I reckon he could knock the elephant out. So for me, he’s the closest to it."
