The UFC interim heavyweight champion previews the Las Vegas main event.

UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has made his prediction for the main event of UFC 296.

The event will be the UFC's final pay-per-view card of 2023 and will see Leon Edwards defend his UFC welterweight title against Colby Covington at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Following back-to-back wins over Kamaru Usman, Edwards is full of confidence and now he is set to face one of the MMA's more eccentric characters.

With two British fighters in Aspinall and Edwards being at the top of their game in their respective divisions, British MMA fans will be keen to see this success continue and Aspinall is confident his fellow countryman can get the job done.

“I definitely think he can win and I definitely think he is going to win," Aspinall told Mirror Fighting

"I think that Leon is just a slick operator, he fights with his brain which is great. I think that Leon is just going to outsmart him, he might get taken down a few times in the fight because Colby is a great wrestler.

"Leon is going to make him walk into something, he will set traps as he does and will catch him before the five rounds is up and finish him.”
