UFC Vegas 106: Michael Morales TKO's Gilbert Burns in the first round

The UFC returned home to Las Vegas for a Fight Night highlighted by a veteran vs. newcommer matchup. 

Gilbert Burns and Michael Morales were initially slated to appear at UFC 315 last week but was moved to the main event of UFC Vegas 106 for undisclosed reasons.

Burns, the aging veteran looked strong in the opening minutes of the first round but after a flurry of strikes, he wasn't able to continue and the fight was called at 3:29. Morales remains undefeated with perhaps the biggest win of his career. 

"This was tough, hard work," he said after the fight. "I was actually nervous in the locker room back there." 

He dedicated the win to his mother who was watching cageside. He said he would take a fight with whoever the UFC wants him to fight next. 

Burns drops his fourth fight in a row.
