Arsenal head across London tonight to face Brentford, looking to re-establish their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Manchester City's win over Fulham on Wednesday means Pep Guardiola's men are keeping up the pressure on the Gunners, and they'll have a tough task against a Bees team who have been one of the surprise packages of the season.

A win will keep Mikel Arteta's side on course for a first title win in over twenty years, and their performances this season have sparked comparisons with Arsenal's previous title-winning sides in the Premier League.

The North Londoners have won the Premier League on four occasions, including the famous invincible season of 2004, but the current side has faced criticisms that they don't match up with their peers of the past.

Not according to one of the club's former Premier League winners, Nigel Winterburn, who, speaking exclusively to DAZN News thanks to Daily Spins Sport, thinks the 2026 vintage could live up to the achievements of previous championship winners.

"I played in some brilliant teams," Winterburn said.

"We won some major trophies in 2003 and then 2004, the Invincibles I don't know how you can talk about a team at the same level that hasn't won anything.

"Deliver us the Premier League and then add a trophy to it after very, very quickly, then I think you could, you could start to talk about them being up there with those teams.

"In terms of individual players, this, this team's got some terrific players, but we're not talking about that, are we? We're talking about a squad, a team that can win trophies. And this team, for me, is capable of doing that.

"They've just got to show the drive and the desire to get over the line this time. So, maybe it'd be, be easy to, to judge them at the end of the season, but I've got complete confidence in them."

A big reason behind Arsenal's dominace this season has been their recruitment drive last summer, which has given their squad a greater depth than ever before.

Arteta can call on top-class internationals from his bench, and it's given a huge advantage in games with slim margins.

Winterburn believes that although there are certain individuals who are vitally important to the Gunners team, it's the strength of the squad as a whole that is their biggest weapon.

Adding, "this Arsenal team have, well, this squad is the strongest squad in the Premier League.

"People talk about Declan Rice, his drive, his desire, level of performance is very important.

"But when you're in that many competitions, what is big for us at the moment is you've got one or two injuries, you can rotate off that bench, as Mikel Arteta likes to call the finishers.

"For me, that's going to be hugely important for Arsenal. The squad is going to be the deciding factor for Arsenal, not one individual player."
