Two of the Premier League's best sides collide on Tuesday in the Carabao Cup semi-finals as Arsenal host Newcastle United in the first leg.
Arsenal are once again in the thick of the Premier League title race, although they are further behind leaders Liverpool than they would have wanted at this point of the campaign. Regardless, they've continued their run as one of the top clubs in England under Mikel Arteta and should be considered real contenders to win this competition.
As for Newcastle, they are arguably the most in-form side in the Premier League with five straight league victories. The Magpies are further behind in the league title race than their hosts, making this cup competition all that more important to Eddie Howe's men.
Arsenal hold the advantage in all-time meetings, with 85 wins in 194 matches.

"We’re very excited to play the game in front of our crowd. A semi-final, an opportunity to earn the right to be in a final and that starts [Tuesday] with two legs. Obviously they’re going to be two long games against a very competitive team, we know that, but very excited and we need a big, big atmosphere in our stadium."

"It is a massive game for us. We are under no illusions how big this game is for us for this season so part of our strength recently is that we have been consistent with team selection so let’s see what we do.”
Newcastle form is dangerous, but with both sides expected to make some changes to their respective lineups Arsenal's home advantage could come into play.
Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Newcastle
