Arsenal had their fourth-round FA Cup match against Wigan Athletic wrapped up by halftime, as they scored all four goals of their 4-0 victory in the first half.

The Gunners are in the middle of a gruelling stretch of fixtures and did well by piling on the goals before taking their foot off the gas against the overmatched League One side, with Noni Madueke, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus all finding the back of the net for the Premier League club. Wigan's Jack Hunt also scored an own-goal in Sunday's match.

It was a satisfying result for Madueke and his team.

"Very pleased," Madueke told TNT Sports after the match. "We were very professional and had the right intent. Four goals and a clean sheet.

"Like you said, it can be tricky if you don't apply yourselves properly, but that wasn't the case with us today so we are really happy."

Madueke's opening goal in the 11th minute set the tone for a frenzied first half by the Premier League leaders, and the 23-year-old said he was just doing what's expected of him.

"I thank God for the goal and the win," he said. "That is my job, to try and help the team.

"When we win it is much better than when we draw like the other day [against Brentford in the league]."

Sunday's victory keeps Arsenal in the hunt for four trophies: Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup. The Gunners have put themselves in a position to realistically compete for all four, and Madueke believes that they are on the correct path.

"That is our main focus and I think it is exciting," he said of the quest for success in four separate competitions. "But we need to carry on doing the right things every single day."
