Brentford held Premier League-leading Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium on Thursday, a result that Keane Lewis-Potter believes is a fair one.
The Bees nullified a deficit against their esteemed visitors through a 71st-minute Lewis-Potter goal, and they could have had another one or two as they piled on the pressure in the game's closing moments.
Ultimately, the teams split the points in Thursday's match, with Arsenal's bright start and goal by Noni Madueke at the hour mark balanced against Brentford's frenzied finish.
Lewis-Potter was satisfied with the way the match unfolded.
"A big point in the end," he told TNT Sports immediately following the match. "It could have gone either way at the end. End of the day, we deserve a point, and I'm happy.
"The squad we have got we can do special things. To play the top teams and take points from them is our aim all the time.
"The way he [manager Keith Andrews] speaks to us every single day, the way he holds meetings and training sessions. He speaks so highly of the players and staff around us. We have an unbelievable group. We can definitely do something special this season."
Coming into focus for the Bees is a spot in a European competition next season, perhaps even the Champions League. Thursday's result puts seventh-place Brentford just five points back of fourth and the final guaranteed Champions League berth on offer for English teams, and Lewis-Potter was straightforward when asked if his team has the continental tournament on the radar.
"That is the aim," he said. "We will see at the end of the season."
