The National League resumes this weekend following a midweek round of National League Cup fixtures as promotion-chasing Carlisle United host mid-table Tamworth on Saturday afternoon.

With the National League promotion battle wide open, Mark Hughes's side will be expected to claim all three points at Brunton Park to keep pace with league leaders Rochdale.

After defeats to York City and Rochdale in late September, Carlisle have been on an imperious run of 10 games without loss. Last weekend, The Cumbrians snatched a late 2-1 win away to Boston United, leaving them behind The Dale on goal difference.

As for Tamworth, they were narrowly defeated 2-1 by Rochdale last Saturday, but did return to winning ways in midweek, with a 3-0 win over Blackburn Rovers under-21s. Andy Peaks' men sit in 11th position and are seven points off the play-off places heading into gameweek 21.
