With Reece James sidelined through injury and Enzo Fernandez suspended, Chelsea will name another player to wear the captain's armband in their forthcoming fixtures.
Liam Rosenior isn't saying who it will be, just yet.
"We've got many leaders," Chelsea manager Rosenior said at a press conference on Friday. "Moises Caicedo is in our leadership group. Tosin [Adarabioyo], too. We've got Cole Palmer, we've got Joao Pedro. We've got Marc Cucurella. We've got leaders in the group.
"So I'll make that decision later on today when I name the team and you'll see who's captain tomorrow."
Rosenior will make the decision after confirming that Fernandez has been suspended by the club following comments made regarding his future with the Blues. After Chelsea lost both legs of their Champions League last-16 tie against PSG last month, Fernandez told ESPN Argentina that he was unsure if he would remain at the London club following the end of the current season.
"I think a line was crossed in terms of our culture and what we want to build," Rosenior said. "So we had to make a sanction and that was a decision we've made."
Meanwhile, James has missed Chelsea's last two fixtures with a hamstring injury and was not part of Thomas Tuchel's England squad in the recent international break, with no confirmed timeline for his return.
"Reece is getting along really well but he’s not ready yet," Rosenior said.
