Erling Haaland will miss an extended amount of time for Manchester City after suffering an injury in the team's 2-1 win at Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-finals on March 30.
The Sky Blues' star actually scored in that match, but he was forced to leave the pitch just 10 minutes later after a challenge from Bournemouth's Lewis Cook and was later seen leaving the stadium on crutches.
Now the race is on to get the striker back onto the field for Pep Guardiola's side. But is there a possibility of Haaland missing the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup? And what exactly is his injury?
DAZN News explains.
Manchester City issued a statement on Monday confirming that Haaland suffered a left ankle injury, although specifics were not given at that time.
The Norwegian later met with a specialist to determine the extent of the ailment.

Pep Guardiola told assembled media at a press conference on Tuesday, April 1 that Haaland could miss up to seven weeks while recovering from the injury.
“The doctors told me between five and seven weeks. So hopefully for the end of season and FIFA Club World Cup he will be ready,” he said.
“Sometimes there are years where these kinds of things happen . It’s happened all season. I would say it could have been different if it was at the end of season.
“All injuries that happen all season I am sorry for them and I am sorry for Erling too. As quick a recovery as possible to come back.
“We don’t have another player with his skills or specific qualities we know that but we have to adapt."
As Guardiola stated, the timeline for recovery should allow Haaland to be fully recovered for the Club World Cup, which kicks off in June.
Assuming there are no setbacks in his rehabilitation, the striker should be back on the pitch by late May.
