As he does daily on DAZN until June 10, Fabrizio Romano reviewed the trends and latest news in the transfer market ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

On the agenda for this new episode of DAZN Transfer by Fabrizio Romano: Kevin De Bruyne’s next destination and Franco Mastantuono’s signing with Real Madrid.

Here's what Romano had to say.

PSG targets Illya Zabarnyi

Paris is very interested in signing Bournemouth central defender Illya Zabarnyi. Advisor Luis Campos and the capital club believe Zabarnyi is the right profile. A transfer is estimated at 50% chance of completion.

Elsewhere, Theo Hernandez to Al-Hilal appears to be falling apart. The Saudi club reached an agreement with AC Milan, but the player has yet to accept the club’s conditions and chances of a transfer going through are now at 20%.

Chelsea wants to sign Hugo Ekitike but there is still no agreement between Frankfurt and the English club. Chelsea believes the fee requested by Frankfurt is too high. However, the striker remains on Chelsea’s list.

Kevin De Bruyne to Napoli

After announcing his departure from Manchester City, Kevin De Bruyne is expected to head to Italy. Napoli is very close to an agreement with the player and is finalizing the last details. The Belgian international wants to play in Italy, with the chances of a deal estimated at 90%. There were other offers, notably from MLS side Chicago Fire, who had wanted Neymar during the winter transfer window. But Napoli is expected to be De Bruyne’s destination.

De Bruyne's former teammate Jack Grealish is no longer part of Manchester City’s plans and could bounce back in the Premier League with Everton showing interest. A transfer remains difficult, particularly due to Grealish's high salary. Nothing is guaranteed, and chances of a signing are estimated at 30%.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal player Aaron Ramsey is set to take on a new challenge as he is expected to join Mexican side Pumas, with the final documents currently being signed.

Mastantuono to Real Madrid

Real Madrid has an agreement with Franco Mastantuono, as well as with River Plate, for the young player's transfer. The clubs are set to sign the final documents Monday, and Mastanuono will play in the Club World Cup with River Plate before going to Real Madrid.

The Spanish club is also very close to re-signing Thibaut Courtois. Xabi Alonso wants the goalkeeper to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu, and Courtois is expected to extend his contract in the coming months. Additionally, Zakaria Ouazane is set to sign with Real Madrid. The young Ajax talent will initially play with Castilla.

Mourinho not on the move

Despite swirling rumours, Fenerbahçe manager José Mourinho is not in discussions with other clubs or national teams following the departure of the Turkish side's sporting director. Roberto Martinez remains at the helm of Portugal and his status keeps a potential Mourinho move to his home nation a rumour.

Elsewhere on the international front, Luciano Spalletti announced in a press conference that he had been dismissed from the Italy national team after a stinging 3-0 defeat against Norway in the World Cup qualifiers. Favoured to step in is Claudio Ranieri, with Italy making him a priority. Stefano Pioli is being considered as a backup option.

English clubs making moves

Arsenal is expected to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. There was a lot of interest from other clubs, but it was already too late.

Heading out of England is Jobe Bellingham, who is set to follow in his brother’s footsteps and sign with Borussia Dortmund for €38M, including bonuses, with 15% on resale. Sunderland accepted all the German club’s conditions on Sunday.

In transfers that have been brewing for a while, Manchester City is preparing to sign Tijjani Reijnders as well as Rayan Aït-Nouri.
