FC Porto 4-4 Al Ahly FC highlights: Ali hat-trick not enough as Pepe strikes late

FC Porto and Al Ahly FC have both been knocked out of the FIFA Club World Cup at the group stage, but not before delivering a classic that will live long in the memory.

After a draw and a loss in their opening two Group A matches, both sides needed to win and hope there would be a loser in the Palmeiras vs Inter Miami match in order to progress to the knockout stages.

What resulted was an eight goal seesaw battle, as both threw caution to the wind and went all out for the victory, especially in the second half. 

Al Ahly led four times in the match as Abou Ali hit a hat trick, but Porto found a response every time. 

Romdhane looked to have finally delivered the knockout blow for the Egyptian club on 64 minutes, before Pepe found one last moment of magic, slotting home in the 89th minute to seal a 4-4 draw.

In the end the draw was not enough for either side to progress, while the 2-2 scoreline between Palmeiras and Inter Miami meant even if the contest had presented a winner, it would not have been enough.
