If a suspension exceeds reasonable grounds, the match can be cancelled - though on occasions, officials have opted to proceed with fixtures following this duration too.

So far, Orlando in Florida has been subjected to multiple weather delays, with two fixtures held in the Florida city suspended due to conditions overhead.
Ulsan HD and Mamelodi Sundowns' opening game in Group F was subjected to an hour-plus delay thanks to thunderstorms in the area.
Benfica and Auckland City's Group C encounter a few days later was also suspended, this time for two hours, thanks to adverse weather in the vicinity.

It is not yet known how much the weather could affect further games at the tournament, as the FIFA Club World Cup reaches its climax later this month.
New Jersey's MetLife Stadium is away from the storm-front zone that has swept across the South Atlantic and Midwest so far, and hosts both semi-finals and the final.
However, there is no assurance that it will remain free of thunderstorms, as the United States continues to battle major weather systems and patterns across the summer.

The forecast for the rest of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup continues to suggest high temperatures and stormy conditions, with thundery showers expected at several games.
MetLife Stadium is due to face those on both Tuesday, July 8 and Wednesday, July 9 when it hosts both semi-finals, but is currently scheduled to be dry for the final.
Other conditions remain flexible for the quarter-final round, which begins later this week.
