Midweek fixtures continue with some massive games

Chelsea host Manchester United on Thursday night, with both teams still clinging on to European hopes at the end of the season.

It's been a campaign of underachievement for both sides, and although they each have FA Cup semi-finals to look forward to later this month, the league form has been full of inconsistencies.

The Blues remain in 11th place, with an outside chance of making the Europa competitions, while United's top four hopes are fading fast.

Ahead of the game, Harry Redknapp spoke to BetVictor and believes that given how bad the team's defences are, there could be a lot of goals at Stamford Bridge.

He said: "I remember some of the great games between these down the years – it feels like a lifetime ago with the way these two are looking!

"I can’t believe Chelsea didn’t win that game at the weekend, no disrespect to Burnley but a side of Chelsea’s class have to be comfortably winning that.

"Manchester United were even worse against Brentford! The number of chances this side gives up is just ridiculous – you’d think they were a bottom six side at times, not top six.

"Given how bad these two have been at the back, we might actually see an entertaining game! I don’t actually think there’s a whole lot between the two sides, 2-2."

The former Premier League boss has also picked out who might be the player to watch in this one, and picked a midfielder who's making his first return to his old stomping ground.

Adding: "Mason Mount obviously got his first goal for United against Brentford and he’ll definitely be one to keep an eye on his return to the Bridge. I’m curious how the Chelsea fans will welcome him back!"
