2025 FIFA Club World Cup play-in match: How to watch LAFC vs Club America on DAZN

Los Angeles FC and Club America will put everything on the line for a place in history today, as the pair meet in a play-in game for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, live on DAZN.

The United States heavyweights meet one of the giants of Mexico as they bid to replace the removed Club Leon in Group D with Fluminense, Espérance de Tunis and Chelsea.

LAFC vs. Club America: Where will the match be played?

The match will be played at BMO Stadium in downtown Los Angeles and is the home of LAFC.

The 22,000-seat venue opened in 2018, costing $350 million to build. The stadium name comes from a 2023 deal with Bank of Montreal (BMO), making it the second MLS venue to sport the Canadian financial institution's name after Toronto's BMO Field.

It has hosted USA international matches, plus rugby union sevens, lacrosse and boxing, and will be a part of 2028 Summer Olympics as a venue for flag football and lacrosse events.

LAFC vs. Club America: Why are these teams in the play-off?

Club Leon have been ruled ineligible to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has rejected an appeal by Club Leon, Pachuca, and Alajuelense, following a decision by the FIFA Appeal Committee which found that Pachuca and Club Leon had breached regulations concerning multiple club ownership.

As such, a replacement needed to be found.

LAFC was the side that lost the 2023 CONCACAF Champions League to Club Leon. Club America is the top-ranked CONCACAF team not already participating in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

LAFC vs. Club America: Head to head history

The clubs have met once before in competitive play, with LAFC claiming a 3-1 victory over America in the semi-finals of the 2020 CONCACAF Champions League.

That match was played behind closed doors in Orlando, Florida due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
