Leeds United moved into third place in the Premier League after a dominant 4-1 victory over Newcastle United on Monday, but Jayden Bogle said his side will remain focused on their goals amid a red-hot start to the campaign.
The Yorkshire club was dominant on the night at Elland Road, treating their home supporters to a one-sided win as Leeds had the match all wrapped up by halftime. Led by Bogle and fellow goal scorers Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor, Leeds bullied the visiting Magpies all over the pitch, and Monday's result extended the team's undefeated run to start the campaign.
Now boasting a record of two wins and two draws after four matches in the young 2026-27 Premier League campaign, Bogle stressed that he and his teammates are not allowing the hot start to cloud their ambitions.
"At the moment, we're taking it game by game, we're not to get too carried away," he said after the match. "Everyone is ambitious in their own ways but as a group, we'll stay focused and focus on the next game."
Bogle, who scored the game's second goal, explained the dynamic within the squad that allowed them to not only come away from Monday with three points, but also to earn results in all four matches thus far.
"It's about working and having an understanding of the players and playing with them," he said. "Dom [Calvert-Lewin] is in the middle competing for everything, getting players next to and under him is massive for us. It paid off well tonight.
"We worked on rotation, JJ [James Justin] was going a bit higher and wider sometimes which leaves the pocket open for me to get into. Dom occupies two centre-backs. It's about getting into an area where the ball might go. We tried some different patterns and movements we've worked on in training to make space."
The 26-year-old also credited Leeds' fans for playing their part in helping push the team to victory, lauding the supporters for maintaining an energy level on Monday that the players looked to match.
"We wanted to start well today, get the fans on board and get them going," Bogle said. "We did that to start with, it was about maintaining that and keeping the energy high.
"It was a tough game, a lot of running, it was tough physically. They [Newcastle] are a top side, they can hurt you at any point."
