Leon will be keen to make an impression in what looks to be a fascinating group when they head north to the United States for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The Liga MX heavyweights were disappointed with a second-round exit in their only previous visit to the tournament and will have high hopes they can deliver this time.
With several intriguing ties to await them in the group stage though, they will know that they need the benefit of a fast start if they are to impress on the biggest stage.
But just how did they seal their berth for the revamped Club World Cup, set to take place across the United States between June and July this year? DAZN News has all the information.
Leon are one of five CONCACAF teams competing in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and qualify as the winners of the 2023 CONCACAF Champions League.
They enter the fray as one of three teams from Mexico who are hoping they can translate their continental club success to the international stage proper here.
Leon have been drawn into Group D, alongside Chelsea (England), Espérance de Tunis (Tunisia) and Flamengo (Brazil).
In order to reach the knockout stages, they must first successfully navigate this opening stage where the top two teams from each group will qualify.
