Matchday 25 of the Premier League continues on Sunday as Liverpool host Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Liverpool are coming off an emotionally-charged Merseyside derby in mid-week, with Everton scoring a late equaliser as the rivals split the points. However, a confrontation at the end of the match led to a player from each side receiving a red card, and for the Reds that means Curtis Jones will not be available for this match.

As for Wolves, they are winners of back-to-back matches as they topped Aston Villa two weeks ago in the league and followed that up with a victory over Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup last weekend. The positive results came at the right time for the side, who lost four league games in a row prior to the Villa victory.

Here's what you need to know about Liverpool and Wolves ahead of their match.

Liverpool vs. Wolves: Head-to-head and recent statistics

Liverpool vs. Wolves: What the managers are saying

Arne Slot, Liverpool

(via Liverpool)

"I said the second half of the season is always more difficult than the first half for many reasons. Some teams bring new players in, some teams [have been] playing longer together so they're playing better together, some teams bring new managers in, like Everton and this manager at Everton is doing a great job and the one from Wolves has made them better as well, although I said back then that Gary O'Neil has been very unlucky because I think he deserved much more points than he got for several reasons. But the new manager that came in has done a very good job, got some positive results in. So, it's going to be a challenge again on Sunday but that is normal [in the] last part of the season in the best league of the world. You can't expect to go out there and have an easy win. It's always going to be a tough one but the players have shown all season they're ready for tough games."

Vitor Pereira, Wolves

(via Wolves)

“My focus is my team, to increase our level, and we must go there with our qualities, looking for our qualities. Of course, we'll face a strong team, in a fantastic environment. We have to defend with our tools, with our work, but I believe that we'll play a good game for sure, fighting for a good result.

“I respect every team, and Liverpool are one of the best in this league. But, of course, a good result brings us confidence, and this is important in this moment.”

Liverpool vs. Wolves: Prediction

Given recent history between these sides, and their relative form in the league, it's hard to see anything but a dominant Liverpool victory in this one.
