Manchester United are arguably playing their best football of the season, with the Red Devils having won four straight Premier League matches and going undefeated in seven games across all competitions.

It's been a great start to 2024 after a rocky end to 2023 that saw the club bounced from the Champions League and losing two of their final three matches of the calendar year.

With the renewed success on the field, Man United now find themselves in the thick of the race for a top-four finish in the league and the Champions League berth that comes with it.

The Red Devils are sixth in the standings but in much better form than the two teams directly above them, Tottenham and Aston Villa. A sustained stretch of results by Erik ten Hag's men could realistically see them into the top four, a goal that former Man United striker Louis Saha feels is achievable.

Speaking to Paddy Power, Saha outlined what's standing in the team's way.

“The only thing that can stop Manchester United getting top four is themselves," Saha said. "When they have their full squad available, they’re better, calmer, more composed and more confident but they still have to see games out."

“They have lots of young players and sometimes they make the wrong decision but they're doing well. Their tactics have been pretty much the same for the last few games and the youngsters aren’t surprised by the quality of the Premier League even if they’re facing top teams like Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.

“The Premier League is tough to predict and it’s up to Manchester United whether they can get top four. By the end of the season, they might surprise everyone.”
