Bring on the Carabao Cup final, says Omar Marmoush.

The Manchester City striker starred in Wednesday's 3-1 win over Newcastle United in the second leg of the competition's semi-finals, scoring twice to lead his side to victory. The Sky Blues also won the first leg in Newcastle 2-0, meaning they comfortably took the two-game aggregate by a 5-1 score.

"We showed a very good mentality," Marmoush told Sky Sports moments after the final whistle. "We were together as a team, from the first minute we were very focused on the job.

"We showed our mentality and passion and are very happy to reach the final."

The 26-year-old got Man City on the board early, scoring the game's opening goal in the seventh minute. He followed that up with another goal just before the half-hour mark to put the tie beyond reach before the end of the first half, but Marmoush admitted that fortune was on his side.

"The first goal was very lucky, my touch wasn't the best but the ball went in," he said. "I try to make the runs and be in the right place and I am very happy to score two goals."

"I wished to get the hat-trick today but I am very happy to score two goals and it gives us all confidence to win the game and hopefully we can win the final," Marmoush added.

Marmoush was one of several first-year Man City players on the pitch for Wednesday's match, and he said the chance to play in finals is one of the reasons why he joined the club in the summer.

"It's one of the biggest clubs in the world," he said. "We are here to win trophies. We give our best every day to reach these finals and win silverware.

"Hopefully we can do it for all the new players and also the players that were here [before]. They showed us that every medal and every [piece of] silverware is important."
