The Champions League returns for the 2025-26 season, and you can see all the action live in selected countries on DAZN.
The competition once again begins with the new league phase after it was introduced last season, and matchday one sees some huge games across three nights, including Newcastle United's opener at home to Spanish giants Barcelona.
Eddie Howe has earned many admirers for his work at St James' Park and last season's Carabao Cup final victory over Liverpool saw him deliver the Magpies' first domestic trophy for 70 years.
Howe has seen star striker jump ship this summer in a £125million British record transfer to Liverpool, but two big arrivals have offset his departure somewhat.
Germany striker Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa have arrived from Stuttgart and Brentford respectively for a combined fee in excess of £100million.
Barcelona, meanwhile, won La Liga last season but exited the Champions League at the semi-final stage after losing 7-6 on aggregate to Inter Milan.
Faustino Asprilla scored a hat-trick for Newcastle against Barcelona to secure a thrilling 3-2 win in the Champions League at St James' Park, September 17, 1997.
Now, 28 years on, the sides meet again for the third time in the Champions League. It should be some night on Tyneside.
DAZN News has all the information ahead of Newcastle United vs Barcelona.
Newcastle vs Barcelona will take place at 8 pm BST on Thursday, September 18, in the Champions League.
That means that fans watching in the US and Canada can see the game at 3 pm ET and 12 pm PT, while it's a 7 am kick-off on Friday, September 19, for fans in New Zealand.
Newcastle vs Barcelona will take place at St James' Park, Newcastle.
The stadium has been home to the Magpies since the club's formation in 1892 and has a capacity of 52,305.
The Germany striker, 23, recently joined Newcastle in a £69million club-record move from Stuttgart.
That eclipsed the £63million Newcastle paid to make Alexander Isak the most expensive player in the club's history three years ago.
Woltemade stands 6ft 6in and is tipped to make a big impact on Tyneside, and he's already off to a great start after scoring the match-winner this weekend for Newcastle againsy Wolves.

The Brazil international has been sensational since he joined Barca from Leeds United in the summer of 2022.
His cultured left foot makes him one of the most dangerous and creative talents in European football and he will surely relish the chance on English soil again.
Last season the winger played a starring role in helping Barcelona to a domestic treble, scoring 34 goals and registering 25 assists in 57 appearances across all competitions.
He is among the 30 nominees for the Ballon d’Or 2025, with the ceremony taking place in Paris on Monday, September 22.
This has the potential to be a classic, as it was all those years ago when Asprilla's treble slayed the Catalan giants at a raucous St James' Park.
But the Magpies failed to score in two of their first three Premier League games this season and are still coming to terms with the loss of Isak.
Barcelona are good enough to go to Newcastle and pilfer the points in a smash-and-grab away win.
Prediction: Newcastle 1-2 Barcelona
