Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker believes there's only one thing that can save the club's season from being a total disappointment.
Since taking over in November, Ruben Amorim has failed to turn the club's fortunes around, with the Red Devils marooned in midtable in the Premier League after a string of lacklustre displays.
However, there is some hope for United in the cup competitions, ahead of their FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Leicester. According to Parker, lifting a cup trophy is the only thing left to salvage their season.
"It has to be to try and win a trophy in one of the Cup competitions. That's all that's left for them," he exclusively told DAZN News thanks to CryptoCasinosUK.
"I mean, Leicester is in the FA Cup at home, which is a big concern because a lot of them are struggling to play at home, and Van Nistelrooy is coming back as well.
"Leicester, in theory, have nothing to lose, as the saying goes, their main concern is to stay in the division, which they're struggling with. So they'll come there on a nothing to lose.
"You look at that and you say, United have to win that game, have to win. You look at the Europa League, you have to look at them doing something now in the league, too."
United's 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend was their seventh home loss of the campaign, and Parker believes the team are relying too much on individuals, while the team is too easy to play against.
Adding: "If they had anything about them. You would say they could get a run together and they might nick in at the last bit of Europe in the league.. But they haven't got that about them.
"They haven't got the sustainability to put runs together because they can't score goals. They can't score enough goals. They're looking for, in theory, to score and to make goals, two players in Ahmad and Fernandes and everyone knows that. That's the problem. Everyone knows that.
"So they're quite an easy team to play against at the moment. They're predictable."
