PSG vs Liverpool: Preview, team news, prediction for Champions League match

Paris Saint-Germain host Liverpool on Wednesday for the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.

The clubs have enjoyed similar campaigns as they are both running away with their respective domestic leagues.

PSG have yet to lose in Ligue 1 this season and look to bring that form into the UCL last-16 after a league phase that was underwhelming.

As for Liverpool, they have lost just once in the Premier League and also topped the 36-team league phase table.

The Reds have cooled off a bit in recent weeks, famously losing to Plymouth Argyle in the fourth round of the FA Cup last month.

They also were held to draws against Everton and Aston Villa, but overall they are still very much among the favourites to win this competition.

It’s not easy to dominate ball possession against Paris Saint-Germain because they take a lot of risk when they press, so they go man-v-man all over the pitch and that makes it hard for many teams to have a lot of ball possession against them. So, we have to adapt really well to what is in front of us. So, I have seen also a few games – mainly in the beginning of the season, for example against Arsenal, where they were not as aggressive as they were in the last 10 or 15 games that they have played when it comes to pressing."
