Milan breathed some life into the Serie A title race by securing their first double over Inter for 15 years, closing the gap to seven points at the top of the table. But will that be enough to derail the Nerazzurri with 10 games to go?

So then, who from the Derby della Madonnina and beyond have made the grade this week and been included in the team of the weekend? Ash Rose takes his pick.

Mike Maignan (Milan)

A clean sheet in the big derby for the second time this season, Maignan had his part to play in Milan's win over Inter.

His save from Mkhitaryan just before the Rossoneri found the winning goal was a big turning point in the clash.

Martin Frese (Hellas Verona)

Hellas Verona pulled off one of the results of the weekend with a win away at Bologna, and Frese was pivotal in the victory.

Scoring his side's opener from 20 yards to get them back in the game, just minutes after the home side went ahead.

Enrico Del Prato (Parma)

Parma has secured its status as a Serie A club for this season, with a point on the road and a shutout for Del Prato and his defence.

The defender was part of a back three that restricted Fiorentina to one shot on target, despite touching the ball 34 times in the Parma box.

Ignace Van Der Brempt (Como)

Como come at you from all angles, including the full-backs, where Van der Brempt impressed for Cesc Fabregas' men against Cagliari.

It was his assist for Da Cunha that saw them take all three points back home.

Pervis Estupinan (Milan)

Always a threat down the left flank, and will be happy to rack up another clean sheet.

However, it will be the Ecuadorian's winning goal that will be most remembered, as it breathed some life into Milan's title chase.

Lucas Da Cunha (Como)

An all-round display from Da Cunha from the middle of the park as he helped Como to an away win at Cagliari.

The midfielder netted the winner in the 2-1 victory and was dominant in defence, too, putting in six major tackles during the game.

Luka Modric (Milan)

A vintage display from the Croatian legend in the middle of the park for Milan as they got the better of their city rivals.

The former Ballon d'Or winner used every inch of his experience and elegance to steer the Rossoneri to victory.

Kenan Yildiz (Juventus)

The best we've seen for Juve's star man in weeks, as he produced a Player of the Match display against Pisa.

The Turkish number 10 was on the scoresheet and nabbed an assist as Juventus got a vital win in their Champions League charge.

Gianluca Scamacca (Atalanta)

The Atalanta striker moved onto eight goals for the season as he netted twice in the draw with Udinese.

His two goals saved the blushes of the Bergamo side, who were 2-0 down at home, and it took some first-class finishing from the Italian to earn them a point.

Alisson Santos (Napoli)

Santos had more shots on target than any other Napoli player during their win over Torino, proving what a big threat he's becoming in Antonio Conte's side.

The one they did go in, opened the scoring inside ten minutes and contributed to the 2-1 win.

Santiago Pierotti (Lecce)

Lecce boosted their survival bid with a vital win over Cremonese, with Pierotti sending them on their way.

He scored the opener for his team and created three further chances during the win.
