Thiago Silva makes it clear on who he wants Fluminense to face next in FIFA Club World Cup semis
Fluminense edged an end-to-end encounter with Al Hilal to reach the FIFA Club World Cup™ semifinals on Friday afternoon.
They will now take on the winner of Thursday night's match between Palmeiras-Chelsea FC, which can be seen live on DAZN, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Tuesday. If Fluminense star player Thiago Silva had his druthers on who'd want to square off with next, it wouldn't be the team from his native Brazil.
"I'm rooting for Chelsea, of course," Silva said after the game. "But Palmeiras is a good team as well."
Despite not scoring a goal, the 19-year-old captain of Fluminense was elated to see his team advance to the final four and take care of the team that upset Manchester City on Monday evening.
"I'm very happy for the team arriving to the semifinal," Silva said.
