The clock has reset on Frank Ilet's haircut countdown.
Ilet, also known as The United Strand on social media, went viral after vowing to not cut his hair until Manchester United won five matches in a row.
He made the pledge way back in October 2024, when Erik ten Hag was still in charge of the Red Devils, and his hair has continued to grow as Man United stumbled through the end of Ten Hag's tenure and through the entirety of Ruben Amorim's ill-fated time in charge at Old Trafford.
It seemed as though Ilet would never see a barber again, but Michael Carrick's hiring last month brought about brighter days as the former Man United midfielder led the team to four straight victories ahead of Tuesday's visit to London Stadium to take on West Ham United.
All Ilet would need is for the Red Devils to defeat the relegation-threatened Hammers and he'd finally be able to trim his unwieldy locks.Â
However, West Ham proved a much tougher out than anticipated, and the best Man United could do was a late equaliser from Benjamin Sesko to claim a 1-1 draw.
That means Ilet's wait just got extended by at least another five matches as the counter has been reset to zero, and â of course â social media had some thoughts on the matter.
Here are some of the better ones:
