Now the nail-biting finale to the National League South campaign has finished, attention turns to the clubs still fighting for promotion in the division's end of season play-offs.

Truro City held off the challenge of five other teams to triumph on the final day and will be a National League team next season, but who could be joining them through the play-off route in 2025-26?

Already in the semi-finals

The play-offs work slightly differently in the National League than the Football League, with two sides already through to the semi-finals.

Having finished 2nd and 3rd in the league respectively, both Torquay United  and Eastbourne Borough automatically go through and will await the winners of the other two 'Play-off Eliminator' games.

Play-off Eliminator games this week

Boreham Wood vs Dorking Wanderers

  • Date: Tuesday, April 29
  • Time: 7:45pm BST

Both Boreham Wood and Dorking did what they needed to do on the final day, but automatic promotion proved not to be and now face each other in the first play-off eliminator.

There's been nothing to separate the two sides in their league meetings this year, with both games ending in a draw. Boreham will be slight favourites given their home advantage, but given the form of both sides, it could go either way.

Worthing vs Maidstone United

  • Date: Wednesday, April 30
  • Time: 7:45pm BST

Automatic promotion was in Worthing's hands a week ago, but they've found themselves in the play-off eliminator and will host the only team not involved in the final-day title drama on Saturday, Maidstone. However, they get ready to host the eliminator, having thrashed Enfield Town 5-1 on Saturday.

The Kent side were a National League side as recently as 2023 but their form has slightly dipped going into the final games, with only one win in their last five outings.
