The National League is one of the most competitive and entertaining divisions in English football, which is reflected in its vast list of champions since its inception in 1979.
Astonishingly, there have been 34 different winners of the fifth tier, and the ceiling for promoted sides is high, with Luton Town reaching the Premier League less than a decade after lifting the National League title.
This season, the division is stacked full of teams who have graced the EFL, with Carlisle United, Rochdale, York City and Forest Green Rovers amongst the early favourites for promotion.
Given that only one team can achieve promotion automatically, the stakes are extremely high for the 24 teams fighting it out in the Non-League’s top table.
Here, DAZN News takes a look through history to bring you all the sides that have triumphed in the National League.

Barnet are the most successful National League side in history, having lifted the trophy for a fourth time last season.
The Bees finished the 2024-25 campaign on 102 points and six clear of second-placed York, who heartbreakingly missed out on promotion via the play-offs.
On top of winning the National League last term, Barnet also won the title in the 1990-91, 2004-05 and 2014-15 seasons.
Behind the North London outfit, Macclesfield are the only team to have lifted the trophy three times, having achieved this in 1994-95, 1996-97 and 2017-18, while seven teams have lifted it twice.
Wrexham achieved the highest number of points in National League history when they won the title in 2022-23, finishing the season on 111 points.
