The Champions League has returned for another year of action, and there are several Canadian players involved in this year's edition.

Following Thursday's league phase draw, up to six players from Canada's men's national team now know their opposition as they look to navigate through the prestigious continental championship.

Here are all the players from Canada set to play the 2025-26 season in the Champions League.

Who are the Canadian players in the Champions League this season?

With the months counting down until the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be partially hosted in Canada, several members of Jesse Marsch's national side will take part in this year's Champions League.

As the summer transfer window draws nearer this list may change, but these are the players set to play in the league phase as of publication:

Jonathan David (Juventus)

Canada's all-time leading international goal scorer on the men's side left Lille over the summer to join Italian giants Juventus, who will be looking to the 25-year-old to continue his scoring exploits from the 2024-25 Champions League — when he scored seven goals in the competition — to lead them to a long run through the tournament.

Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich)

The only Canadian international to ever win the Champions League, Davies is working his way back to fitness after tearing his right ACL while on international duty in March.

Davies isn't expected to return until November, but when he does he'll likely step right back into the Bayern starting XI.

Promise David (Union Saint-Gilloise)

A breakout star at Union Saint-Gilloise last season, Promise David led his team in goals as they won the Belgian league title.

Boasting a combination of size and speed that allows him to bully defenders on the way to the opposing net, David's larger-than-life personality is built for one of the biggest stages in club football.

Tajon Buchanan & Tani Oluwaseyi (Villarreal)

Tajon Buchanan is one of the most dynamic players Canada has ever produced, and his early returns at Villarreal after joining the La LIga side on a permanent deal from Inter Milan are good.

The 26-year-old scored a hat trick in Villarreal's second league match of the 2025-26 campaign, and The Yellow Submarine hope he can bring similar form into the Champions League.

The newest Canadian in Europe, Tani Oluawseyi joined Villarreal on August 29 after a fruitful career in Major League Soccer with Minnesota United.

A relatively late bloomer compared to some of his compatriots, the 25-year-old striker's athleticism convinced the Spanish side to reunite him with his Canada teammate Buchanan ahead of their Champions League run.

Derek Cornelius (Marseille)

After a season as a spot starter for Marseille, defender Derek Cornelius could be on the move.

The 27-year-old is on Robert De Zerbi's back line rotation, but he is looking for more playing time ahead of next summer's World Cup and has been linked with a loan move to Rangers in Scotland.

For now, Cornelius is gearing up for a UCL campaign with the French club, but he could move on before the transfer window closes.
