If familiarity does indeed breed contempt, there's about to be a lot of disdain between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool this week.

The clubs will meet twice in the space of four days, with both games at Wolves' Molineux Stadium, starting Tuesday with a Premier League clash. They will then face off once again on Friday for their FA Cup fifth-round match, but first there are 90 minutes of league action to be played.

Wolves come into this match on a bit of a high despite still sitting dead last in the standings and a virtual lock for relegation in May. The reason for the joyful attitudes at the Molineux is because Wolves are coming off a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa over the weekend, the team's first league victory since Jan. 3. Perhaps most important is that the result puts Wolves on 13 points, officially taking them out of the running for the worst club in Premier League history.

Looking to put their hosts back into a bad mood, Liverpool arrive on the back of three straight victories. Their latest outing was a 5-2 dismantling of West Ham over the weekend and they'll look to claim another victory over a team in the relegation zone on Tuesday.

Wolves vs. Liverpool: What the managers are saying

Rob Edwards, Wolves

(via Wolves)

“In the Premier League, anyone on their day can give anyone a run for their money and anyone a game. We are showing that at the moment, but this is a different game now. It’s a different game to when we played them last time, it's a different game to Friday night. To threaten these teams and to compete, we have to be at our best. Liverpool are obviously the current champions, they're an amazing football club, so we know the size of the task – everything that we had on Friday, we're going to need and more.

“They're winning games, and that's a sign of a good team, whether you're at your best or not. They’ve had a lot going on at that football club and some change with new players coming in as well. They're looking strong as the season is getting to the really crucial stage. Every game for them now is about winning, whether it's about Champions League qualification or winning trophies, that's what they're used to doing. We're preparing for the best of them over these next two games, and I'm sure that's what we'll get.”

Arne Slot, Liverpool

(via Liverpool)

“It’s not unusual that we play three games in seven days for us. That’s probably the fourth or fifth time this season that we have to do this.

“Does it bring a challenge? Maybe for the second game a little bit more because then you know even better what to expect, but that I also like mainly.

“I also like [it] in the Champions League because the first time you play each other, mainly in the Champions League you don’t play each other that much so it’s a bit new but the second time you can prepare your team even better. Especially if the team you face does the same again.

“But now, being in the Premier League, we played them [Wolves] already once [and] you see a lot of games of them because they play against teams that we are facing as well.

“You know each other that well that I don’t see that much difference between playing each other twice in three days or that there’s a longer period in between.”

Wolves vs. Liverpool prediction

Despite the highs felt from the weekend's victory, Wolves are still very much the underdogs in this fixture.

With Liverpool rolling, anything less than a win for the Reds will feel like a disappointment.

Prediction: Wolves 0-2 Liverpool
