Chelsea are in a transitional period.

Chelsea are currently enduring a tough season as they look to solidify themselves a position in the top half of the Premier League.

Maurico Pochettino has been heavily backed by his chairman but he’s having to be patient for results as the London side have often struggled for consistency this campaign.

Chelsea have a young squad and have players that could easily be developed into top performers, but Frank Leboeuf, a former Chelsea defender, has spoken about the need for experience.

With the Stamford Bridge club having many legendary figures from their past, what ex player does Leboeuf think would massively improve this current side.

“If I could bring one past Chelsea player into this squad it would be an easy choice, Gianfranco Zola,” said Lebeouf when speaking to BetVictor

“They don’t have anybody like him. They have Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez behind Conor Gallagher in the number ten position, but that is not his best position.

“Zola was a genius. He could turn a game on its head, and we could also trust him to pick us up and help us in difficult moments.”
