The unified champion wants to prove his claims to be undisputed in the lightweight division.

Teofimo Lopez says he wants to fight Gervonta Davis to prove to others he is the superior boxer.

Lopez appeared on DAZN’s Ak & Barak Show to discuss his relationship with Top Rank ahead of his Triller fight with George Kambosos Jr.

He was then asked who he wanted to fight after the Australian, and he suggested ‘Tank’ Davis would be his preferred opponent.

“It’s got to be... I would love to fight ‘Tank’ Davis. I would love to knock him out.”

Asked why he would be wanted Davis, Lopez explained it was because some observers think it would be a tough match for him.

“A lot of people talk about it, that it would be a 50-50 fight. If we mentioned Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia, the guy everyone thinks will be a 50-50 fight will be me and ‘Tank’ Davis. Even if I don’t think it will be.

“I know what I bring to the table.”

However, Lopez thinks that while a win against Davis would give him the WBA lightweight title, or Devin Haney the WBC regular belt, he would still not be given credit for the undisputed title, something that he already claims.

“When I take off Devin Haney’ lips, the whole thing next is they’re going to say: ‘Gervonta Davis is the regular champion. He’s got to beat him to become undisputed.

“It’s just going to keep going. It ain’t ever going to stop."
