Oleksandr Usyk is one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world right now, if not number one

Now he will be looking to cement that status when he puts his WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight title belts on the line against Anthony Joshua in Jeddah on August 20.

This will be the second time the pair have met. The first contest took place last September at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and saw Usyk triumph on points in what was a dominant performance.

Already Usyk has proven that he is one of the best fighters in the sport of boxing, and after becoming the undisputed champion at cruiserweight, he will be looking to do the same at heavyweight and that road could start with a second win over Joshua.

DAZN gives an overview of the Ukrainian's career below.

Career record and fight results

Oleksandr Usyk's boasts a 19-0 record with 13 of those wins coming by way of knockout.

Notable career highlights

Usyk wins first world heavyweight titles: September 25, 2021

Oleksandr Usyk plunged the Tottenham Hotspur into silence last September when he beat Anthony Joshua on points to claim the WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight titles.

Usyk dominated throughout the contest. His movement frustrated Joshua, who was unable to land any big right hands and towards the end looked tired, and if the fight was longer than 12 rounds there was a chance the former Team GB man could have been stopped.

Usyk becomes the undisputed world cruiserweight champion: July 27, 2018

Oleksandr Usyk's gruelling cruiserweight campaign in the World Boxing Super Series came to a thrilling climax when he faced Murat Gassiev for the undisputed title at 200lbs.

Many saw this as a tough task, even for someone as talented as Usyk.

However, despite travelling to Moscow to face Gassiev in front of his avid fanbase, Usyk put on a boxing clinic, circling rings around his Russian opponent who was looking to end the fight with one big shot.

This achievement by Usyk to become the undisputed title holder at cruiserweight was even more admirable with all the six fights for dominance in the division taking place on the road and away from his native Ukraine.

Usyk wins his first world title: September 17, 2016

Three years after making his professional debut, Oleksandr Usyk became a world champion, but just like all his world title exploits, Usyk had travel into enemy territory in order to chase the glory.

WBO world cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Glowacki was the man who stood in Usyk's way and started well in the opening stages, targeting the Ukrainian's body in an attempt to stifle his movement.

However, as the fight progressed, Glowacki's output dropped and Usyk took advantage and sealed a comfortable win on the judges' scorecards to be crowned the new WBO world cruiserweight champion.
