Every week in the NFL, star players collide looking to gain, or protect those few yards that make the difference for their team.

Below are DAZN News’ Week 6 premier player matchups.

Rome Odunze (WR, CHI) vs. Marshon Lattimore (CB, WAS)

Rome Odunze has already eclipsed his touchdown total of last season with five in the Bears’ first four games. Veteran Marshon Lattimore will cover Odunze when he splits out wide left on Monday night.

Odunze has been efficient on short routes this year, catching 10 of 11 targets at that depth.

Lattimore is a physical corner in man coverage. He must use that approach to disrupt Odunze’s routes; the Chicago receiver is 6-foot-3, 215 pounds.

Lattimore is used to playing deeper, so the physicality is key underneath, and across the field. Odunze is 50th among receivers in yards after the catch per reception.

If Lattimore can make him uncomfortable under 10 yards, he can keep the Bears from moving the chains on easier throws for Caleb Williams.

Williams and Odunze will have an advantage against Lattimore on higher throws. Odunze has converted three of five contested catches this season, and Lattimore is allowing 14.4 yards per catch.

Odunze may find the end zone this week, but not against Lattimore. The Washington corner allowed only one catch against the Chargers in Week 5.

Charles Cross (LT, SEA) vs. Josh Hines-Allen (DE, JAX)

Charles Cross is the anchor up front on an ascending offense in Seattle. Josh Hines-Allen will play across from him all day on Sunday. Both players are 6-foot-5.

The Seahawks have a 50-50 split between running and passing plays, but are more effective throwing the ball.

Hines-Allen carries a top-five win rate (33.8%) in the NFL on pass plays. Cross must get his hands on Hines-Allen first when Sam Darnold drops back. The Jaguars’ edge is lightning-quick, but can be moved by Cross’s 315-pound frame.

Hines-Allen has had issues finishing his rushes this year. He has only one sack, and his lowest quarterback pressure rate since 2021 across the first five games, despite the win rate. The Seahawks are a top-five team in sacks allowed, giving up only six in the early going.

Seattle must be careful with Hines-Allen in the running game. He is long, fast and athletic, which will allow him to shed Cross and pursue Kenneth Walker.

Overall, Cross should keep Darnold protected in this game. If the Seahawks run away from Hines-Allen, they will be at an advantage up front.

Javonte Williams (RB, DAL) vs. Derrick Brown (DT, CAR)

Over half of Javonte Williams’ 447 rushing yards this year have come between the tackles, and to the right. Derrick Brown plays left defensive tackle, with some time spent on the left edge.

Williams is a league leader in yards per attempt (5.7). Brown must contain him on the interior for the Panthers to have any chance of slowing down the Cowboys’ offense.

Brown has no missed tackles in the run game, which is a good start, but at 320 pounds he must move laterally to jam Williams, or reach him on the edge. The Dallas back has burst-like speed with 14 runs over 15 miles per hour this year.

Brown will be at an advantage when the Cowboys go to gap runs in his direction. Williams has had success in that spot, and Brown will be facing backup right guard T.J. Bass. Bass has struggled with that play call, and played less than half of the Cowboys’ snaps running in the gaps.

Ultimately, the Panthers’ defense is overmatched in this game. Brown may be effective early on Williams, but that success will likely fade as the Cowboys mix in the throw and run to wear down the Panthers’ defense.

Amon-Ra St. Brown (WR, DET) vs. Trent McDuffie (CB, KC)

Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions@detroitlionsnfl

Both Amon-Ra St. Brown and Trent McDuffie play all over. This matchup is interesting, because both will test each other’s skills inside and outside, at different depths.

St. Brown is the NFL’s leader in receiving touchdowns (6). Three of St. Brown’s scores have come inside the opponents’ 10-yard line. McDuffie must read those slant and crossing routes, and be decisive when breaking on the ball.

Jared Goff and St. Brown have connected on 18 of 20 targets on routes under 10 yards this year. It's essential McDuffie keeps St. Brown out of the end zone for the Chiefs’ defense to impede an elite Lions offense.

McDuffie has shown he’s capable of this throughout his career, and in the first five games of 2025. He is a top-10 corner in forced incompletions and reception rate.

St. Brown can overpower McDuffie, having the size advantage, but McDuffie brings quickness in the red zone the Detroit receiver has not seen this season.

Look for St. Brown to have a longer day than normal.
