The Philadelphia Eagles have been flirting with danger for the majority of this young NFL season, including Sunday's tilt with the Denver Broncos that aired on NFL Game Pass on DAZN (excl. US and China).
It finally caught up with them as the Broncos stormed back from 14 points down with 18 points in the fourth quarter to defeat the Eagles 21-17 and knock the reigning Super Bowl champions from the ranks of the undefeated.
Broncos quarterback Bo Nix went 24 of 39 for 242 yards and one touchdown pass, which ended up being an 18-yard strike to Evan Engram and then a two-point conversion to Troy Franklin with 7:36 remaining to give Denver the lead for good. In the second half, Nix went 14 of 18 for 163 yards and the touchdown to Engram.
The Broncos (3-2) took a 21-17 lead with 1:11 to go with a 36-yard field goal by Will Lutz.
The Eagles (4-1) still had a chance. A fourth-and-nine pass from quarterback Jalen Hurts to Dallas Goedert was incomplete but an 18-yard pass interference penalty on Broncos safety JL Skinner kept the drive alive. A 24-yard completion by Hurts to wide receiver Jahan Dotson got the Eagles to the Broncos' 29-yard line. A controversial no-call on what looked to be pass interference by the Broncos gave the Eagles only one more shot. A Hail Mary into the end zone was incomplete to give the Broncos the upset win.
Before Sunday's comeback win, the Broncos were 1-112 heading into the final quarter on the road when losing.
Hurts went 23 of 38 for 280 yards and two touchdowns.
Next week, the Broncos travel to London to take on the New York Jets while the Eagles play on Thursday night against the New York Giants.
