Bears’ Caleb Williams sets historic goal for Chicago's offense

After a breakthrough 2025 campaign that saw him lead the Chicago Bears to their first NFC North title in years and the franchise’s first playoff win since 2010, QB Caleb Williams has even bigger ambitions for 2026.

Speaking on The Rush Podcast with Las Vegas Raiders Maxx Crosby, Williams outlined his offensive vision with unmistakable clarity.

Here, we break down what Williams, one of the true breakout stories of 2025, had to say.

“I really want to become the greatest offense this year,” Williams said, oozing confidence.

That mindset will be music to the ears of Bears’ fans, but it goes beyond fanciful thinking. Williams has done his homework.

"I think the average was 38.5 or something like that, of Denver, that Peyton [Manning] year where he had 50 touchdowns," he added.

While Williams is slightly off on those numbers - the Broncos averaged 37.9 points per game in that record-setting year, and Manning threw for 55 touchdowns - his goal remains clear. He's chasing historical records.

In that same conversation, Williams explained that building an elite scoring attack begins with the fundamentals he stresses every day.

“Whatever that comes down to… getting these completions, starting drives, getting drives going and then helping with protection… delivering some easy runner balls".

Williams' second-year leap, coupled with the offensive wizardry of new head coach Ben Johnson, helped the Bears’ offense take a major step forward in 2025.

They ranked in the top ten in both points and yardage, and scored 130 points more than they had in Williams' rookie season the year before.

Now, Williams has his sights set higher, and he won't settle for anything less than elite.
