College Football Playoff Picture 2025: Who's in? Is Ole Miss on the bubble?

The 2025 playoffs will be different, as 12 teams will now vie for a spot in the National Championship game on Jan. 19, 2026, in Miami. The first four teams will automatically get a bye into the quarterfinals. 

There is plenty on the line this week. Heading into the biggest week of the regular season, who would be on the road to Miami and who would be on the outside looking in? Would Notre Dame be in? How about Alabama? Will Lane Kiffin turn his back on Ole Miss and bolting to LSU shrink their chances?

Quarterfinal Matchups 

At the Goodyear Cotton Bowl, Capital One Orange Bowl, and Rose Bowl on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

• Ohio State (No. 1) vs. No. 8 Notre Dame/No. 9 Miami winner
• Indiana (No. 2) vs. No. 7 Oklahoma/No. 10 BYU winner
• Georgia (No. 3) vs. No. 6 Ole Miss/No. 11 Virginia winner
