There’s always a buzz around NFL International Series games, and today’s matchup between the Denver Broncos and New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is no different. The streets around north London are alive with colour, a sea of orange and green mixed with jerseys from every corner of the league. Some fans are grabbing a bite of local food, others are deep in game-day debate, and plenty more are hustling toward the stadium entrances for the 2:30 pm (BST) kickoff.
If you’ve never been to one of these London fixtures, you’re missing something special. It’s part festival, part sporting spectacle - an event where the show around the field adds to, rather than distracts from, the game itself. The focus remains firmly on the football, but the experience is unmistakably fan-first.
The Broncos and Jets arrive here on very different paths. Denver, fresh off a statement win over the Philadelphia Eagles, are chasing a third straight victory to keep their playoff push alive. The Jets, meanwhile, are still searching for their first win of the season, and perhaps a spark to save both their campaign and their coach.
On paper, it looks one-sided. It might even play out that way. But this is the NFL, a league built on parity and surprise. The Jets have disappointed so far, no doubt, but they still have the talent to turn a game on its head. If they can tap into the energy of this London crowd, they might just make things interesting.
