For the first time since 2014, the Kansas City Chiefs have failed to make the postseason, ending the second-longest streak of postseason appearances in league history.
Their dominant NFL run may have been put on pause and raised questions about whether their dynasty has ended, but the Chiefs have enjoyed unparalleled success since 2020.
Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who suffered an ACL tear in Week 15 against the Chargers, has been a major driving force behind Kansas City's success.
Before he arrived in 2017, the team had only one Super Bowl title to its name, won in the 1969-70 season.
As Mahomes begins the long rehab process, and head coach Andy Reid goes back to the drawing board ahead of 2026, DAZN NFL News takes a look at the Chiefs' Super Bowl record.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been victorious in four of the Super Bowls they have appeared in.Â
These wins came at Super Bowl IV, Super Bowl LIV, Super Bowl LVII, and Super Bowl LVIII.
The most recent Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl triumph came in 2024 against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas.
It was a cagey affair between the two teams, and going into the fourth quarter, the 49ers held a slim 13-10 lead.Â
But whatever the situation, fans can never count out the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes managed to get his team within range to score a last-gasp field goal in the fourth to tie the scores at 19-19, which sent the Super Bowl into overtime.
The 49ers struck first with a field goal to make 22-19.
The mission was simple for Mahomes and Co.:Â Match or better the 49ers' efforts in their first possession.Â
The Chiefs did precisely that, as with under 10 seconds remaining in overtime, Mahomes threw a game-winning touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman, thus earning the Chiefs the first back-to-back Super Bowl titles since the New England Patriots in the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
