Jalen Hurts' lowly QB ranking condemned as 'utterly shameful' by ex-Eagle

We're usually discussing drama of a different sort on franchise tag deadline day, but with nothing happening on that front, we turn our attentions to controversy of a different kind.

ESPN dropped its annual top 10 quarterback rankings this week, the result of votes cast by more than 70 league executives, coaches and scouts.

Senior NFL writer Jeremy Fowler shared the full tiers on social media, and buried in the middle sat a ranking branded "utterly shameful" by a former player.

Emmanuel Acho shocked by Hurts' ranking

Former Eagles linebacker and Speakeasy co-host Emmanuel Acho used his platform to share his thoughts, and he didn't hold back.

"It is utterly shameful to have Jalen Hurts ranked behind quarterbacks that don't even have playoff wins. Justin Herbert.

"It is utterly shameful to have Jalen Hurts ranked next to fringe quarterbacks like Daniel Jones and Bo Nix.

"I mean, Jalen Hurts is still a Super Bowl MVP, he is still a All-Pro, He is still a quarterback that every time he plays, he leads his team to the playoffs.

"The level of disrespect that Jalen Hurts is getting with this list is greater than any respect he's gotten thus far. You can't put the majority of these quarterbacks on the Philadelphia Eagles and expect the same results.

"Is Jalen Hurts an elite passer? No, if this was best throwers of the football, fine, but this is best quarterbacks. Jalen Hurts should be substantially higher."
