Super Bowl Opening Night is always part circus, part statement of intent. On Monday night in San José, with Super Bowl LX just six days away, the Seattle Seahawks sent a clear message: this team believes.
With cameras everywhere and questions coming from every angle, ten Seahawks players and head coach Mike Macdonald spent an hour at the podium talking football - and sounding like a group completely at ease with where it is.
Here are the key takeaways from what Sam Darnold had to say, what the 'Dark Side' said about the legacy of the 'Legion of Boom', and everything else that stood out on Opening Night.
DAZN’s latest Game Pass deal gives you complete access to Super Bowl LX, alongside full replays of every playoff and regular season game, for just £0.99.
The offer arrives ahead of the ultimate showdown, as Drake Maye’s New England Patriots prepare to face the Seattle Seahawks’ relentless defense with the Lombardi Trophy on the line.
In addition to every game, live or on demand, Game Pass also provides access to RedZone, NFL Network, and DAZN’s weekly original shows, including Downs 2 Business, Kittle Things, and X's & O's coaching breakdown.

Quarterback Sam Darnold delivered one of the night’s lighter moments when he was serenaded by a crowd chanting “Ham for Sam,” led by Jimmy Kimmel Live! personality, Guillermo Rodriguez, who appeared wearing a foam ham hat.
Darnold handled it with a smile, saying, "That’s really nice, thank you, you don’t have to do that,” before moving things along to a more serious point - discussing the belief he has in himself.
"I always knew I could do this at a high level. That was really it. That's what kept me going, and I knew at some point an opportunity would arise. But even if it didn't, I knew I did everything that I could to become a better player year in and year out."
Darnold also talked about the respect he has for New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye.
Star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba may be appearing in his first Super Bowl, but he won't be fazed by the moment.
Safety Julian Love shared his respect for the defense that helped Seattle win Super Bowl XLVIII, but also stressed that the 'Dark Side' want to do things their own way.

"There's one Legion of Boom, we know that," Love told reporters. "A lot of those guys are still around. We get a lot of inspiration from [them].
"But we're not them," he continued. "We know who we are. We're different. We carry ourselves way differently than those guys, than those legends, and we're just trying to create an identity for ourselves."
Talking to RedZone host Scott Hanson, head coach Mike Macdonald discussed how "it took the whole organisation" to help the Seahawks reach this point.
