Aside from Joe Alt at OT, the list of offensive snubs are few and far between compared to those on the defensive side.
Here are our top three players who deserved recognition:
1. Carson Schwesinger, LB, Cleveland Browns
Despite his sensational performance from the moment he stepped foot onto the field in Week 1, the rookie probably didn't earn a spot thanks to the Browns' poor win-loss record.
Schwesinger has made a series of splash plays, performed extremely well against the run, and was adept in pass coverage. He also registered double-digit tackles in his last six games.
To be a genuine snub, there has to be a player who received a nod who was less deserving. That guy? The Texans' Azeez Al-Shaair.
2. Tykee Smith, S, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Budda Baker had more tackles, but missed 17.4% of his opportunities and allowed a 120.1 passer rating in pass coverage.
Smith, on the other hand, missed only 11.1% of his tackle attempts, had more pass breakups, more sacks, and allowed only an 85.9 passer rating in coverage.
Make this make sense.
3. Nahshon Wright, CB, Chicago Bears
Every cornerback who was voted ahead of Wright performed at a more consistent level in pass coverage. For that reason, this snub could be argued. However, his impact has been overlooked.
Wright tied for the league lead at the position in forced fumbles and interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He also missed fewer tackle opportunities than many of his peers listed above.
Other mentions
While these snubs are less egregious, Jordan Love, Marcus Jones, Byron Murphy, Kyle Pitts, Tyler Warren, Devin Lloyd, Jordyn Brooks, Derrick Brown, Derrick Henry, and Will Reichard might have reason to feel aggrieved.
