On Sunday, the premier NFL game of the season will be upon us when the New England Patriots (17-3) and the Seattle Seahawks (16-3) battle in Super Bowl LX at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. You can watch Super Bowl LX with NFL Game Pass on DAZN (excl. the US and China).
This is the second time Levi's Stadium has hosted the biggest game of the season. Back at Super Bowl 50 in 2016, the home of the San Francisco 49ers was the host stadium when the Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers 24-10.Â
Levi's Stadium has been home to the 49ers since the 2014 season. It's located about 40 minutes south of San Francisco and west of San Jose.Â
For a 49ers game, the stadium's standard capacity is 68,500 people. But for major events like the Super Bowl or concerts, Levi's Stadium can expand to around 75,000-80,000.
The record attendance for Levi's Stadium is around 80,000 people for an Ed Sheeran concert in September 2023. The Sheeran concert broke the previous record of 76,976 for WWE WrestleMania 31 in 2015.Â
Levi's Stadium has also hosted college football games, including the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in 2019 when Clemson beat Alabama, the Pac-12 Conference Championship Game (2014-2019), and currently The Bowl Game at Levi's Stadium. Also, the venue hosted a Copa America matchup in July 2024 featuring Brazil vs. Colombia that drew 70,971 people.
The record attendance for a football game of any kind is 72,211 people for the 2020 NFC Championship Game, in which the 49ers defeated the Green Bay Packers. Â
In addition to hosting Super Bowl LX, Levi's Stadium will also host six matches for the 2026 World Cup in June and July. Due in part to some of these significant sporting events, Lev's Stadium went under a $200 million renovation project. Part of the new upgrades include enhanced 4K video boards, a production studio, suites, and a new hospitality area called The Elevate Club which is located at field level.Â
