New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel remained professional on Super Bowl opening night, despite being asked an obvious question by a member of the media.
Super Bowl week is officially underway in Santa Clara with opening night being the first event which involves the players and coaches from both teams face the media.
This particular engagement can be a chaotic one and unpredictable with media members given a free pass to ask whatever they want.
While Vrabel put on a brave face, there is no doubt he is under immense pressure to bring a Vince Lombardi trophy back to Foxborough.
If Vrabel manages to coach the Patriots to a win over the Seattle Seahawks, he will become the first ever head coach and player to win in a Super Bowl.
The stakes could not be higher, but then came the bizarre question to Vrabel about whether Sunday's game is a "must-win".
Instead of taking the bait and lambasting the reporter, Vrabel remained professional and gave a measured, but obvious response.
"A must-win, yeah," Vrabel said.
"Every time we go out is a must-win game, it’s the attitude I’ve always taken in the National Football League."
All three of Vrabel's Super Bowl wins as a player came during his seven years in New England, and this also included a successful title defence at Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville.
