Conor McGregor suggests he will select his own opponent for any BKFC debut, with the promotion co-owner weighing up the propects of a possible debut in the near-future.
The MMA veteran has conquered most mountains in combat sports across a busy career, but could yet add another string to his creative bow if he turns his hand to the game.
In an interview with DAZN, the Irishman pulled no punches when asked about a debut with BKFC, stating: "Listen, I'm the owner of this whole company. Can't you understand this?
"So I'm going to be facing who the boss chooses. BKFC is on the rise. It's global. Everyone wants to do it. I want to do it. I own the thing and I want to do it.
"This is the stable of solidness. If you're a tough, bad motherfucker, you do bare-knuckle, and that's it. Everyone wants to do it, because it's so unusual.
"It's the same thing over and over with all these other promotions. Bare-knuckle is just otherworldly. It's out there on its own. All you got to do is come see it live."
McGregor is looking forward to a bout between UFC veterans Mike Perry and Jeremy Stephens, who meet for the King of Violence belt in the main event of BKFC 82.
"Jeremy Stephens versus Mike Perry is an incredible bare-knuckle matchup," he added. "Both men tried and tested in the bare-knuckle circle.
"Mike Perry returning with a vengeance to make a statement, and Jeremy on the climb and on the rise, looking to take what he's built. Both men angling for a fight against the boss.
"It's a cracking bare-knuckle contest in front of the 17,000 strong in the Prudential Center. I’m very excited for it, very eager to see it take place, and I cannot wait."
Elsewhere, ex-UFC lightweight champion and Hall-of-Famer Frankie Edgar returns from retirement at 43, and will face Jimmie Rivera in a bout McGregor sees with local interest.
"[It is] Frankie in his hometown against another hometown boy, [and] Jimmie has experience," he added. "If you've not experienced it, it can catch you off guard.
"But Frankie is a little goer. He's a little pitbull in the pocket. So I'm very excited to see him without the gloves. I think it suits him.
"Obviously, his wrestling background will help him in the tie-up. Usually, the boxers come over and they're a little bit shook with the tie-up and a smack around the temple.
"No gloves in a close spot has a real effect versus in a boxing match and it catches people off guard. Frankie will be used to It's going to be a crack and fire. I can't wait for it."
