Canelo Alvarez is set to have his hands full later this month when he faces Terence Crawford in a massive fight for the undisputed super-middleweight crown.
The fight will see Crawford jump up two weight classes and it is a bout that has the entire boxing community split.
Despite Canelo facing a major test in his next fight, Amir Khan has identified another fighter who he believes will be able to defeat the Mexican legend moving forward.
Khan, who was knocked out by Canelo in 2016, is a huge admirer of his former rival but he is also a big supporter of Hamzah Sheeraz.
Last month, Sheeraz removed any doubts that he was elite fighter when he stopped Edgar Berlanga in New York City, a fighter who took Canelo the distance.
Sheeraz is keen to land bigger fights and that includes potential future showdowns against Canelo and Chris Eubank Jr.
Khan, a former world champion, has heaped praise on Sheeraz and he is certain the British man can beat Canelo.
“Canelo always has problems with guys that are taller than him, and [Sheeraz is] someone with a hard jab, a strong jab,” said Khan when speaking to IFLTV .
“I honestly think he can beat Canelo, but I don’t think Canelo will take that fight. Because if you think about it, there’s a lot for him to lose. He’ll be thinking, ‘oh, why do I have to fight this young, hungry fighter?’
“Unless Turki [Alalshikh] puts the money down and says he has to fight him. So, the pressure of [making] that fight is on Turki. As a boxing fan, I would like to see that fight, because I think Hamzah beats him.”
