Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury - Carl Froch makes latest prediction for potential heavyweight clash

Talk of a huge showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua continues, but there is still no official confirmation on when the blockbuster heavyweight showdown will take place. 

The popular pair have teased a fight for the best part of a decade, but fight fans are still waiting to see who would emerge victorious out of the former heavyweight champions. 

In 2024, both fighters endured tough periods inside the ring as their path towards an undisputed fight for all four belts was thwarted by fighters who had other plans. 

Oleksandr Usyk became the division ruler with two victories over Fury as he became the first man to inflict defeat on the British superstar . 

For Joshua, he was hoping to become IBF champion, but his attempts to become a three-time belt holder were stopped by Daniel Dubois who destroyed Joshua inside five rounds at Wembley Stadium . 

 

Fury has since announced his retirement from the sport, but that statement has not been treated seriously by some within boxing and another comeback could pave the way for a fight with Joshua. 

The 2012 Olympic gold medalist is expected to be back in early 2026 and if he can look impressive in that one then a bout with Fury ius still possible. 

Carl Froch, who has been brutally honest on both fighters in the past, has given his verdict on who will come out on top if the clash finally takes place. 

“I can only see one winner in that fight, and that’s Tyson Fury,” said Froch when speaking with FightLens . 

“But Tyson’s been out now, he goes heavy in between fights, so if he puts on too much weight and he struggles to get it off and AJ’s been in the gym then who knows.”
